GOPENG

Gopeng, a small town in Perak, Malaysia, boasts a rich history that dates back to the late 19th century when it emerged as a thriving tin mining town. It became one of the largest tin producers in the region, drawing a diverse population of Chinese, Malay, and Indian workers. The decline of the tin mining industry in the late 20th century led to a downturn in its economic fortunes. Today, Gopeng is reinventing itself as an ecotourism destination, known for its beautiful limestone caves, lush rainforests, and adventurous activities like white-water rafting and caving.
