Lenggong Archaeological Museum: Remember Perak Man?

Hello everyone! Before Moh ke Perak introduces another enticing destination to visit, let's take a moment to explore an intriguing question: Did you know that just like China or Europe, Malaysia also has evidence of ancient human habitation?

Today, let's embark on an archaeological journey to the Lenggong Archaeological Museum.

(Lenggong Valley, the name appeared in history textbook)

Lenggong is a location familiar to most Malaysians. Why?

(Behold, Perak Man skeleton!)

Do you remember an IC belonging to a skeleton known as Perak Man? Yep, Lenggong holds the earliest evidence of human habitation in Malaysia.

During our visit, we were informed that the museum is currently undergoing renovations. However, the museum has set up a temporary gallery for visitors to appreciate.

No worries guys, the museum is scheduled to reopen on April 20, 2024. We hope that you'll have an incredibly enriching experience when you visit the brand-new museum.

(The clay pot ric...... I mean, the clay pottery)

(All kinds of material that Perak Man & Co. used)

(A rock? No, it's a hand axe)

In the museum, you'll have the opportunity to witness a plethora of historical items, including pottery. You can also examine the materials that were used by ancient humans up close.

(Why don't you save this picture and scan these QR?)

(Words explanation of the Orang Asli, which means the original people that live in Hulu Perak )

Don't forget to pay attention to the detailed explanations provided! This will be sure to captivate your mind. History textbooks don't delve deeply enough into this topic? No worries, because a visit here will surely fill in those gaps!

(The model of how ancient humans lives in the cave)

(The museum explains the life of ancient humans creatively, for example: Do you notice this is a combination of 2D and 3D art?)

The way to gain a deep understanding of a period of history is not achieved by texts alone, but by stepping into the ruins, feeling the wind and soil there, and seeing for oneself the fossils and remains left behind by those who lived through history.
