Concubine Lane: Legacy of Ipoh

Hello everyone, today we would like to recommend one of the famous attractions in Ipoh - Concubine Lane!

Located in the Old Town area of Ipoh, Concubine Lane is a century-old alley. It was gifted by the Malaysian mining tycoon Yau Tet Shin to his second wife, ”Concubine,“ and has since become a tourist attraction.

After a fire broke out in the old town in the year 1892 and it was rebuilt, apart from purchasing a lane and shops for his second wife, mining tycoon Yau Tet Shin also gifted another two lanes to his first and third wives. Therefore, Ipoh Old Town has ‘Wife Lane’, ‘Concubine Lane,’ and ‘Market Lane'.
