To catch a glimpse of the mining era, Han Chin Pet Soo is the perfect choice! It was exclusively for entertaining Hakka male mine owners. It was not only Ipoh's first electrified building, but also obtained a gambling license from the British government in 1897.
Back then, activities like gambling were considered perfectly legal.
(The hall is full of tableware, looks vintage and dignified)
Just to be clear, no gambling during your visit, please!
Han Chin Pet Soo is divided into three sections:
Ground floor: Lobby, mining exhibition area, kitchen, backyard
Second floor: Entertainment area (faithfully recreating the lavish lifestyle of mine workers)
Third floor: Hakka migration exhibition area
Highlights::
