Ipoh Railway Station: Ipoh’s “Taj Mahal”

Hi everyone, today I would like to recommend a landmark building that you must visit when you come to Ipoh, Ipoh Railway Station. It was built in 1914 during the British colonial period and has a history of a hundred years.

(This beautiful building is also the Ipoh Stop for ETS)

(The whole view of Ipoh Railway Station)

The architectural style of Ipoh Railway Station combines Moorish and Victorian styles. This form of architectural elements includes hemispherical domes, small dome pavilions, and circular arches, so it is also called the "Taj Mahal" of Ipoh.

(A old times building that combines different styles well)

(Due to it is still a functioning railway station, the station is lively every day)

This all-white building also witnesses the pioneering history of Ipoh. From the early steam trains used to transport tin rice and carry passengers to the current electric trains, Ipoh Railway Station still retains all types of trains.

Although the station is not big, it is also an important transportation exit for the older generation of Ipoh. If you like the quiet time, you must remember to come here to check in and take photos.

(Arrive here is pretty easy, getting a ride to Ipoh station will do)

Opposite the Ipoh Railway Station is another famous building from the British colonial period——Ipoh City Council.
