Kinta Tin Mining Museum: Discover the Secrets of the Tin Mining Age

Hello everyone, today I'd like to introduce the Kinta Tin Mining Museum in Kampar. As a museum located very close to the town, it's incredibly convenient to visit. Whether you're passing through Kampar or planning to indulge in some local delicacies, a visit to this museum is a must.

Established on October 24, 2013, by former Kampar Member of Parliament, Tan Sri Dato’ Hew See Tong, the museum aims to showcase the toil and sweat of tin mining to future generations. Unfortunately, he had passed away on 2022. Interestingly, October 24, 1985, also marks the day of the collapse of the world tin market. Through a series of tools, machinery, mining site models, figurines, and artifacts, the museum provides a deep understanding of the mining industry.

While the museum located near the hypermarket may seem inconspicuous, its exhibits are not only comprehensive but also accompanied by detailed explanations. Additionally, models are simulating the mining conditions of the past. Can you imagine the hustle and bustle of people sieving tin ore by the lakeside in Kampar, wearing straw hats and focusing on their work? Well, you can witness it here!
